Job summary

Bethesda Southgate is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time night shift (10:45 PM–7:15 AM). The role provides basic nursing care, conducts resident assessments, and collaborates with the IDT to update care plans.

Qualifications

• LPN education from an accredited school.
• Current LPN license in the state of employment.
• CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• IV certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to assess basic nursing needs of geriatric residents.
• Excellent communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques with assistance.
• Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+ lbs with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull equipment over 40 lbs with proper technique and assistance.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for procedures.
• Visual acuity and accurate documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assess residents on admission and ongoing.
• Communicate significant changes to the IDT and document assessments accurately.
• Participate in the care planning process and update plans as needed.
• Implement nursing interventions, administer meds, and ensure timely treatments.
• Maintain safety and accuracy in electronic and written documentation.
