Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System in Missouri is seeking a Nurse Assistant to perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include bathing, hygiene, feeding, toileting, ambulation, and ensuring patient safety while communicating effectively with the care team.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification, with preferred prior hospital or nursing home experience. Night shift, 7pm–7am, with every-other-weekend rotation and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum meeting 19 CSR 30-20.125 OR documented experience as Nursing Assistant/EMT/ER Tech/Surgical Tech in past 3 years; or nursing student who completed fundamentals; or nursing licensure candidate who failed licensure in past 3 years; or nursing assistant certification as defined in 198.082, RSMo.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care tasks such as bathing and hygiene.
• Assist with elimination and toileting.
• Assist with nutrition feeding and hydration.
• Assist with ambulation and positioning.
• Perform regular patient rounds on the unit and communicate with the care team.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s age.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum or equivalent experience

LPN program outside the US and awaiting licensure

Nursing student who completed fundamentals or equivalent course

Nursing licensure candidate who failed licensure in past three years

Nursing assistant certification per Mo. statute
