Job summary

Health First is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patients throughout office visits. The role encompasses intake, vital signs, medication administration, and documentation in the EMR, with emphasis on patient-centered care.

You will perform point-of-care testing, coordinate test results, and assist multiple providers while maintaining a clean, compliant environment and exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• Must hold CMA or RMA certification or be eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to start date.
• Experience with point-of-care testing preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Florida-specific regulatory requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point of care testing (urine dipstick, glucose, etc.).
• Handles clinical intake: vital signs, medical & family history, medications.
• Administers medications per provider orders following the 6 rights.
• Coordinates medication documentation and necessary checks with licensed staff.
• Maintains supplies and coordinates equipment and inventory with site manager.
• Sets up patients for exams with pre-work and test results available.
• Communicates lab and imaging results to providers and patients via EMR/portal.
