Job summary

Health First in Florida seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to provide comprehensive care during office visits, including intake, tests, labs, and medication administration, while focusing on patient-centered service.

Key duties include point-of-care testing, documentation, coordinating with providers, and ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance. The role requires CMA/RMA certification and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting is preferred.
• Certification as CMA or RMA from AAMA/AMT/NAHP/NCCT/ARMA/AMCA or similar is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point of care testing (urine dipstick, glucose, etc.).
• Handles clinical intake: vital signs, histories, and medication verification.
• Administers medications per provider order, following the six rights.
• Assist with stocking, supplies, and equipment maintenance.
• Sets up patients for examinations with pre-work for providers.
• Performs specimen collection and point-of-care testing as directed.
• Communicates lab results and diagnostic findings to patients and providers.
• Ensures safety and infection control, HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Maintains patient flow and coordinates with Licensed Practitioners.
• Supports other Health First Medical Group areas as needed.
• Answers phones and messages, documents in EMR, and liaises with teams.
