Job summary

Excelsior Springs City Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our outpatient services. You will collect history, record vital signs, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR while aiding with scheduling and patient flow.

The role requires CMA certification, a high school diploma, and familiarity with medical terminology. Prior physician office experience is preferred; confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be CMA certified and have high school diploma.
• Experience in a physician office setting preferred.
• Medical terminology background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient information (history, allergies) for physician.
• Records vital signs (TPR, weight, height, BP) and growth charts.
• Documents records accurately in EMR and scans records as needed.
• Manages exam room assignments and patient flow for admissions/discharges.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and staff issues.
• Provides discharge instructions and follow-up scheduling.
• Assists with minor procedures and scheduling with outside agencies.
• Manages drug samples, supplies, and timely removal of outdated items.
