Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples for Full-time Flex Houseparent roles. You will reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social growth.

The position starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with opportunities to transition to a placed houseparent role over time.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples (at least two years).
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one approved dog breed.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreation
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
