Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. The role involves living on-campus, supervising a group of 8–13 students, and supporting their academic, emotional, and social development.

Couples work a nine-on, three-off schedule and may transition to a Placed Houseparent role, living with the same students. Consideration requires both spouses to submit separate applications.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples who are married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependents may reside in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapons-free; alcohol not permitted while on duty.
• Pets allowed: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Staff are role models and uphold integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and supervise student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
