Placements24 is assisting a busy family in Welkom, Free State, SA, seeking a reliable Child Carer to oversee care for an infant and a toddler. You will create a loving, safe, and structured routine, support early development, and communicate with parents about daily progress.

This full-time role requires at least 3 years of professional childcare experience, First Aid/CPR, and eligibility to work in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience with infants and toddlers.
• Demonstrable knowledge of infant and toddler development stages.
• Excellent understanding of child safety protocols.
• First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to family routines.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Non-smoker preferred.
• Residing in or near Welkom is essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing full-time care for an infant and a toddler.
• Ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the children at all times.
• Implementing consistent routines for feeding, napping, and playtime.
• Preparing healthy meals and bottles, and assisting with feeding.
• Engaging children in age-appropriate developmental activities, including sensory play and early learning exercises.
• Managing diaper changes and bathing routines for the infant and toddler.
• Light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as cleaning feeding equipment and tidying play areas.
• Communicating effectively with parents about the children's daily progress, needs, and any concerns.
• Fostering a secure and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and social development.
• Maintaining a clean and organized nursery/play area.
