Job summary

Seagull Schools in Honolulu is seeking an Infant Toddler Caregiver to assist the Lead Caregiver in creating a safe, nurturing environment for young children. You will help plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities, maintain order, and support emotional and developmental needs.

The role requires meeting Hawaii state licensing requirements, lifting up to 35 lbs, and CPR/First Aid certification. A comprehensive benefits package includes PTO, holidays, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Meet State childcare licensing requirements for infant toddler caregivers.
• Must meet state licensing requirements (Medical, TB, and criminal history clearance).
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain NAEYC Accreditation Standards and practices.
• Comply with DHS Child Care Licensing Hawaii Administrative Rules.
• Work with individuals or small groups of children as directed by the lead caregiver.
• Assist the lead caregiver in planning and implementing educational activities, lessons, and materials.
• Assist in assessing and documenting student progress and behavior.
• Provide physical care such as feeding, diapering, and nap-time support.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies to promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support learning objectives.
• Help maintain classroom organization and cleanliness such as cleaning, sanitizing, and managing supplies and resources.
• Conduct yourself in an appropriate manner when dealing with children, other staff or parents, or during school activities on or off campus.
• Be sensitive and responsive to children's needs.
• Use positive modeling and behavior management.
• Follow school policies and procedures (maintain confidentiality).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
