Job summary

Seagull Schools in Honolulu seeks a dedicated teacher to provide nurturing educational experiences for young children. You will design age-appropriate curricula, support families, and collaborate with staff to ensure developmental progress.

Qualifications

• Meet State of Hawaii DHS qualification standards for Teacher
• BA in child development or early childhood education with six months of experience OR BA in elementary education with preschool experience plus six ECE credits
• AS degree with ECE credential and one year of experience or CDA credential with one year of experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain NAEYC Accreditation Standards and practices.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with educational standards.
• Promote growth through play-based and hands-on activities.
• Train and evaluate assistants and volunteers; maintain substitute plans.
• Observe and assess developmental milestones and progress; support children with varying needs.
• Communicate with parents about progress; prepare reports and attend meetings.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines; supervise activities.
• Promote creativity through art, music, storytelling and dramatic play.
