Rowan-Cabarrus Community College seeks a Full-Time Humanities Instructor to deliver engaging instruction across general education humanities courses. You will teach Technology and Society, Myth and Human Culture, and Critical Thinking, in-person and online, while upholding rigorous academic standards.

The role emphasizes active learning, curriculum development, equity-focused pedagogy, and collaboration with the Humanities Department and college communities.

Competenze

• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level (community college level preferred).
• Experience with interdisciplinary courses such as Technology & Society or Critical Thinking.
• Familiarity with Canvas (or equivalent LMS), HyFlex instruction, and instructional technology tools.

Mansioni

• Teach a full-time course load in-person, and/or online. Prepare engaging course materials, syllabi aligned with institutional outcomes, and provide timely feedback.
• Support student success and retention through regular office hours, early-alert collaboration, and coordination with tutoring, advising, and accessibility services.
• Participate in ongoing curriculum review, assessment of student learning outcomes (SLOs), textbook selections, and online course development in Canvas.
• Engage in departmental and institutional service, attend meetings, participate in commencements, mentor students, and contribute to program initiatives.
• Maintain currency in humanities scholarship and educational technology tools; pursue 30 hours of professional development annually.
