Job summary

NCSSM is seeking a temporary, part-time Instructor of Humanities for the Connect program in Durham, NC. The role involves teaching one or more introductory high school humanities courses via Zoom or other videoconferencing tools, January 15, 2027 to May 19, 2027, with a remote option and live sessions Monday through Friday.

Qualified applicants hold a Master’s degree in a related field and at least two years of teaching experience, preferably with gifted and motivated students in virtual

• Master's degree in Media Studies, Cultural Studies, Social Studies, or related field.
• Two years of teaching experience are required.
• Experience delivering online/virtual instruction using video conferencing.

Responsibilities

• Teach Connect courses synchronously via Zoom.
• Develop and deliver structured lesson objectives and activities.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with NCSSM staff to support remote learners.
