Job summary

UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh is interviewing for a Full-Time Grill Hot-Cook to support the Dietary department at the McCandless location. Salary will be determined based on experience. Candidates with prior experience are highly preferred.

Hours are typically 40 per week from 5:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with rotating weekends. HS Diploma or GED or 1 year of experience required. Act 34 clearance is noted. UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete in-advance preparation for next day of service.
• Produce high quality hot food according to recipes and production sheets.
• Prepare foods within designated timeframes; monitor usage to meet volume needs.
• Adhere to safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Maintain an inspection-ready work area.
• Follow SDS and safety guidelines for chemicals.
• Operate and maintain equipment per guidelines.
• Provide courteous customer service daily.
• Record all prepared and leftover food per health dept. guidelines.

ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Grill Hot-Cook to support our Dietary department at the McCandless location. Salary will be determined based experience. Candidates with prior experience are highly preferred and encouraged to apply.

Hours

Our Full-Time Hot Cooks typically work 40 hours each week between the hours of 5AM-8:30PM. Rotating weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Complete in-advance preparation requirement for next day of service.
• Produce high quality hot food products according to standardized recipes and production sheet volume requirements.
• Prepare all foods within designated timeframes; monitor food usage throughout service to ensure volume needs are met.
• Adhere to departmental safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Maintain an inspection-ready work area on a consistent basis.
• Adhere to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace. Store chemicals and cleaning supplies away from food production areas.
• Uses and maintains equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines; follows all safety procedures.
• Provide a courteous and helpful customer service attitude on a daily basis.
• Chill, store, and record all prepared and leftover food in accordance to health department guidelines; maintain temperature cooling log documentation.

HS Diploma/GED OR 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
