Job summary

Silverado Hospice is seeking an RN On-Call to provide after-hours nursing support across Texas communities, including Austin and surrounding areas. The role ensures timely assessments and continuity of care for hospice patients and their families, with competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities.

The position requires an RN license, at least 1 year of nursing experience, and flexibility to work outside regular hours. Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds are also required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid state license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Hospice experience preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must clear a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours based on business needs.
• Must be comfortable working in environments with animals and pets.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations and after-hours assessments for patients with changes in condition.
• Assess for signs and symptoms of discomfort, including pain, and take prompt, appropriate action.
• Initiate and update plans of care as needed; provide nursing follow-up and caregiver instruction.
• Submit accurate documentation within 24 hours of visits.
• Coordinate services across settings to ensure quality and appropriateness of care.
• Follow approved care plans, modify as needed, and communicate with physicians when appropriate.

Shift Schedule: Full Time (on- call), Monday - Thursday, 5:00pm - 8:00am

Anticipated pay range: $85,000 USD - $95,000 USD
