Job summary

Amedisys is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant in Georgia to provide skilled interventions under the supervision of an OT, document visits, and coordinate patient care so individuals can heal at home.

The role emphasizes accuracy in documentation, ongoing assessment of patient responses, and collaboration with the care team to support ADL/IADL needs and community resources.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited OTA program.
• Eligible to take NBCOT exam for certification.
• At least one year related OTA experience; if less, regional clinical leadership approval and mentoring required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Documents each visit per guidelines for inclusion in the patient’s clinical record.
• Monitors and reports patient responses to treatment and any changes to the supervising OT and care team.
• Provides resources for future ADL/IADL needs for patients and caregivers.
• Promotes wellness and prevention through engagement in meaningful activities.
• Keeps updated on OT practice trends and care coordination.
• Assists with follow-up care planning with the admitting center.
