Job summary

Amedisys in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver skilled interventions under an OT-approved plan of care in patients’ homes across Hamilton County.

You will document visits clearly, observe patient progress, and support ADL/IADL goals while promoting wellness and occupational engagement within the care team. This is a full-time day shift with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant, valid in the state of assignment.
• Graduate of an OTA program accredited by ACOTE or successor.
• Eligible to take or having completed NBCOT certification exam.
• One year related OTA experience preferred; regional leadership approval or residency if less.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist and physician-approved plan of care.
• Documents each visit according to guidelines for inclusion in the patient record.
• Observes and reports patient response and changes to the supervising OT and care team.
• Provides resources to patient and caregiver for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness through meaningful occupational engagement.
• Keeps abreast of OT trends and knowledge for service provision and care coordination.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations with the admitting care center.
• Other duties as assigned.
