Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society is hiring an Environmental Services Technician in Tyndall, SD to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, residents and staff. You will perform flooring care, waste handling, and room cleaning in patient areas and public spaces, following infection control and safety protocols.

Hours: 30 per week, shifts vary; compensation includes $15.00–$17.00 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. A high school diploma is preferred; healthcare custodial experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and common areas by following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Clean floors, wipe surfaces, empty waste baskets and manage cleaning equipment in assigned areas.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology as needed.
• Work in locations and shifts that meet patient/resident needs, including overtime or weekends.
