Job summary

Hotel Indigo downtown Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our hospitality team and help deliver spotless, welcoming guest rooms that turn first-time visitors into loyal return guests. No experience?

No problem—we train motivated, reliable housekeepers from day one. In this full-time role you will clean guest rooms and public areas to brand standards, restock supplies, assist with laundry, and support turnover cleans.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically active work environment.
• Sharp attention to detail and genuine pride in cleanliness.
• Strong work ethic — able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Schedule flexibility, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift throughout your shift.
• Dependability, professionalism, and discretion.
• Solid communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms to brand standards.
• Make beds, change linens, and refresh towels and amenities.
• Deep-clean bathrooms — sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, mirrors, and floors.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop assigned guest rooms and common areas.
• Restock linens, toiletries, and guest supplies.
• Perform a final quality inspection before marking rooms guest-ready.
• Maintain spotless hallways, elevators, lobbies, and public spaces.
• Follow proper chemical handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.
• Track and report room status, maintenance needs, and supply inventory.
• Communicate room readiness and issues to the front desk and management.
• Follow key control and security procedures for guest room access.
• Keep housekeeping carts, supply closets, and equipment clean and organized.
• Assist with laundry — washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens.
• Support deep-cleaning projects, turnover cleans, and seasonal initiatives.
• Partner with Front Desk, Maintenance, and Laundry staff to keep hotel operations running smoothly.
