Job summary

Splendido, a luxury senior living residence in Tucson, AZ, seeks an experienced Cook to support a culinary team that serves multiple restaurants within the community. You will prepare from-scratch meals, maintain high quality, and follow HACCP sanitation standards while collaborating with staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents.

The role requires weeknights, weekends, and holiday availability with shifts across varied hours.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, residents, and guests and follow standardized recipes.
• Able to operate kitchen equipment and tools in hospitality/health care.
• Current sanitation certification.
• Effective written communication and reading instructions.
• Reliable, punctual attendance to support uninterrupted operations.
• Must be sensitive to needs of older adults and enjoy working with a senior population.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food per recipes and HACCP sanitation standards to serve high-quality items.
• Plate presentations with garnishment and monitor temperatures for elevated plating.
• Check menu items availability and notify shortages to Chef.
• Operate and clean equipment; maintain storage areas and report hazards.
• Minimize waste; label, date, and store items properly.
• Assist with deliveries, storage organization, and lunch/dinner production lists.
• Assist Pastry Chef with basic tasks as needed.
• Identify areas for improvement and participate in QA/process changes.
