Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents who are married couples living on campus to supervise and support a group of 8-13 students. You will provide care, mentoring, and a family-like home environment to foster academic, emotional, and social development.

The role involves round-the-clock duties on a nine-on/nine-off cycle, eventual placement in a consistent student home, and duties such as managing schedules, devotions, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-year married couple; both spouses age 27+.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
