Full Time Field Service Technician – Houston, TX

Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Full-Time Kiosk Technician in the Houston, TX area. You will start your career with RDS as a Kiosk Technician, training on key duplicating, tag engraving kiosks, and third-party service. The territory covers approximately 60-80+ kiosks within a 50-mile radius around Houston, with around 40 hours per week. The starting hourly rate is $20, with a car allowance and gas card provided.

At Hillman, all full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity plans. Full-time employees are also eligible for 401K, short-term and long-term disability insurance, group life insurance, and an employee stock purchase plan. Benefits include vacation, personal and floating holidays, in addition to eight paid holidays.

Job Description:

  1. Serve as the primary contact at customer locations.
  2. Restock kiosks, order products, perform cleaning and preventative maintenance, and respond to service and repair dispatches (typically 1-2 hours per machine, 1-2 times per month).
  3. Maintain a flexible schedule for routine service calls; some Saturday work may be required.
  4. Respond to unscheduled service calls within four hours with an ETA, and complete on-site visits within 24 hours.
  5. Possess some technical experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks based on demand or schedule.
  2. Handle on-call repairs or adjustments when machines malfunction.
  3. Install machines within the local area.
  4. Monitor machines daily for issues, resolving connectivity or power problems in coordination with stores.
  5. Maintain inventory for re-stocking machines in possession.
  6. Conduct store meetings, interact with management, and promote the machines to enhance revenue.
  7. Optimize revenue by improving machine locations, uptime, product mix, and store relationships.

Skills:

  1. Basic troubleshooting, mechanical, and electro-mechanical skills.
  2. Ability to follow written and oral instructions carefully.
  3. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and email.

Training specific to the kiosks will be provided to all new employees.
