Position Description Summary/Purpose :

The University of Bridgeport, School of Nursing (UBSN), invitesapplications for full-time faculty with expertise in adult health,maternity, or mental health. As a dynamic and growing program, theUniversity is seeking to add faculty committed to excellence inteaching, scholarship, and service whose primary responsibility isin the BSN/ ABSN program. This is a 12-month full time faculty position.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities :

• Under the direction of the Program Director, the person isresponsible for teaching didactic courses as well as clinicalsupervision.
• The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across thecurriculum with specialization preference in related field.
• In addition to classroom teaching, faculty members are expectedto pursue scholarly activities, participate in School, University,and Community service, assist in advising students, curriculumdevelopment, and program evaluation associated with a full-timefaculty position.
• This position is also required to participate in commencementand convocation activities as well as special Universitymeetings.
• Teaching schedule may include days, evenings and/or weekends.Participation in other University and community service activitiesconsistent with the mission of the University.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in Nursing
• State of CT RN license (or eligible)
• Recent Clinical experience is required.
• Ability to demonstrate effectiveness in working with diversepopulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctorate in nursing or related field or substantial progresstowards the doctorate with anticipated completion with 1-2years.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent teaching experience in auniversity nursing program.
