Vincennes University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Electrical/Computer Engineering. The position begins January 2027 and is a full-time, continuing, non-tenure track appointment reporting to the Chair of the Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses across Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Physics, and develop courses such as Linear Circuits and Digital System Design.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Master’s Degree and 18 graduate hours in Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Engineering.
• Knowledge of assessment and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and technical courses in engineering, computer science and physics.
• Serve as an academic advisor and participate in related student success activities.
• Participate in recruitment and retention initiatives and activities.
• Participate in the development and implementation of assessment, including learning outcomes, at the course, program, college, and university levels.

Position summary

The Engineering Department, in the College of Science, Engineering,and Mathematics at Vincennes University, has a faculty opening atthe Assistant Professor rank. The Department is seeking applicantsto teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, includingElectrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science andPhysics. Beginning in January, 2027, this is a full time,continuing, non-tenure track faculty position, with benefits,reporting to the Chair of the Engineering Department.

Job Requirements/Experience:

• Candidates must be able to teach a variety of ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Physicscourses in an open access college setting. The courses that thecandidates are expected to develop and teach include but notlimited to Linear Circuits, Digital System Design, ElectronicsAnalysis and Design with Laboratory components. The candidates arealso expected to teach undergraduate level programming languagesincluding C, MATLAB, or PYTHON. Furthermore, the candidates shouldhave interest and expertise to teach Physics courses andLaboratories ranging from technical to college level.
• Minimum qualification is a Master’s Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering or a Master’s Degree and 18graduate hours in Electrical engineering/Computer Engineering.
• Knowledge of assessment and data-driven decision making.
