Job Summary
The Facilities Coordinator,reporting to the Director of Facilities, supports the day-to-day and long-termmanagement of facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, andwell-maintained. This position assists with preventive maintenance planning,access control, asset management, and departmental projects, while coordinatingwith vendors. The Coordinator of Facilities & Operations collaborates withinternal and external partners to uphold high standards of safety, efficiency,and building care, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and knowledge ofstudent development to foster vibrant, supportive communities that promotelearning and holistic growth.
Principal Accountabilities
- Monitor’s the computerized maintenance management system forwork orders and assigned them as appropriate.
- Oversees the daily operations of shipping/receiving/courierstaff.
- Coordinates the scheduling and access for routine servicevendors such as elevator service, pest control service, etc…
- Coordinates and schedules annual inspections such as fume hoodinspections, fire alarm inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, fireextinguisher inspections, Won door inspections, etc…
- Coordinates vendor sign-in and access to facilities.
- Coordinates purchase requests, purchase orders, purchase carduse, and invoicing review for all budgets assigned to the Director,Facilities.
- Provide front-desk service for the campus facilitiesmaintenance department.
- Coordinates building schedules, services, and access requirementsof internal and external stakeholders with Facilities, Planning, andConstruction department and service vendors.
- Coordinates the issuance of physical keys and access controlcards/fobs.
- Provides assistance to the Facilities Digital Systems Managerin the scheduling of the Access Control System and Building AutomationSystem.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications
- Associates degree with 5 years of experience in an administrative facilities maintenance role.10+ years' experience in an administrative facilities maintenance role can be substituted for an associate's degree.
- Must hold a valid Texas driver's license and meet requirements of Blinn’s vehicle usage policy to drive on behalf of the college.
Minimum Competencies
- Computer proficiency in software programs: Microsoft Word,Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and ability to learn new software.
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills tointeract effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience planning, developing, managing andadministering budgets and projections.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management,Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related Field
- Three years’ experienceworking in higher education.
Preferred Competencies
- Experienceoperating computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experienceoperating access control systems.
- Experienceoperating building automation systems.
- InternationalFacility Management Association (IFMA), Facility Management Professional(FMP)
- BuildingOwners and Managers Association (BOMA), Facility Management Certificate(FMC)
- NationalCenter for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), Core Certification(Safety, Tools, Construction Math)
- OccupationalHealth and Safety Association (OSHA), 10-hour Certificate
- OccupationalHealth and Safety Association (OSHA), Fork Lift Certification
Special Notes To Applicants
This position involves work both inside and outside of a traditional office environment. Employees must possess the physical and mental abilities necessary to perform duties in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
40 hours per week on campus is required.
This is a 12 month, benefits-eligibleposition. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees,50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurancebenefits. Yearly leave time includes:
- 96 hours vacation
