Job summary

Blinn College District in Brenham, TX seeks a Full Time Bus Driver/Vehicle Fleet Maintenance to provide reliable transportation for athletic teams and student groups and to service the campus fleet on a routine basis.

The role requires a State of Texas Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and at least two years of commercial driving experience, plus knowledge of applicable bus transportation regulations. It is an on-site, full-time position with benefits.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary

Toprovide transportation services for athletic teams, student organizationgroups, or other college groups needing transportation to and from events aswell as maintaining and servicing motor pool vehicles on a routine basis.

Principal Accountabilities

• 1. Transports athleticteams, student organization groups, and other college groups to and fromevents.
• 2. Maintains a State ofTexas Class b CDL license with passenger endorsement.
• 3. Cleans and services allfleet vehicles including washing, vacuuming, maintaining exterior andinterior surfaces.
• 4. Performs routine andassigned daily service on all fleet vehicles including checking oil,tire pressure, brake and transmission fluids, filling fuel tanks, andsimilar related tasks.
• 5. Takes fleet vehicles tolocal lube and repair center for oil changes, state inspections, tirerotation, replacement, vehicle repairs, and similar related tasks.
• 6. Keeps accurate recordson service inspection reports and maintenance performed.
• 7. Assists with schedulingfleet vehicles and buses for employee and student travel.
• 8. Monitors and coordinatesmaintenance, fueling, inspections, repairs, and specialty needs of fleetvehicles.
• 9. Maintains accuratefiling system for all transportation vehicles, including lease fleet.
• 10. Manages car washingsupplies inventory. Purchases replacement inventory.
• 11. Assists the receiving,maintenance, and campus courier departments on an as needed basis.
• 12. Performs other relatedduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications

• 1. State of Texas Class B –CDL license, with passenger endorsement, with a driving record of lessthan ten (10) penalty points in a three year period.
• 2. High School diploma orGED.
• 3. Two years commercialdriving experience.
• 4. Knowledge of federal, state, local rules andregulations as it pertains to bus transportation.

Minimum Competencies

• 1. Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills.
• 2. Ability to workindependently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
• 3. Capable of multi-tasking in a busy workplaceenvironment.

Special Notes To Applicants

Thisposition will require some overnight and weekend travel. Hours worked may varyfrom week to week.

Yearly leave time includes:

• 96 hours vacation
