Job summary

Ashland University Bookstore in Ashland, Ohio is seeking a Full-Time Building Service Worker to maintain clean facilities across the campus. You will clean living facilities, dining areas, restrooms, classrooms and offices, replenish supplies and handle trash/recycling duties.

Responsibilities include operating power equipment, moving heavy items, and reporting repairs. Weekend work may be required; candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and able to work in a dynamic

• Must be dependable, trustworthy, flexible and a team player.
• Able to work effectively in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
• Ability to operate power equipment (vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, high and low speed burnishers, auto scrubbers and other possible equipment used in building cleaning).
• Applicant must have reliable transportation.
• Attention to detail is critical. Availability to work weekends as needed.
• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa.

Responsibilities

• Clean living facilities, dining areas, laundry areas, restrooms, shower areas, classrooms and offices.
• Replenish soap and paper products.
• Remove trash and recycling from buildings while replacing liners in the trash and recycling containers.
• Sweep, mop and clean floors and stairwells.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.
• Dust furniture, wash walls and windows.
• Clean outside steps and entryways (may include snow removal from entryways).
• Move heavy furniture, supplies and equipment.
• Burnish, refinishing and stripping tile and terrazzo flooring.
• Report items in need of repair and ordering supplies.
• Perform related or special duties as assigned by a supervisor.
