Job summary

Ashland School District 5 is seeking a Custodian for the Maintenance Department to perform cleaning, maintenance and ground care of school facilities. The role supports a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff and the community, with duties performed under limited supervision.

Work Schedule: swing shift 3:00pm – 11:30pm, 1.0 FTE, probationary. Must follow district safety policies, operate cleaning equipment and report hazards promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to interact with students, staff and community appropriately.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety rules.
• Basic math and measurement ability for tasks and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Follow district policies and procedures.
• Daily cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and maintain floors.
• Set up and move furniture for events.
• Report hazards to supervisor.
• Maintain building security and light checks.
• Provide customer service to staff and students.
