Job summary

Advocate Health's Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon, GA seeks a Patient Transport teammate to support patient movement and care coordination within the hospital. You will help move patients safely between beds, procedure rooms, and discharge areas while adhering to unit standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and current AHA BLS certification within 3 months. Full-time, 40 hours/week, mainly evenings 5:00 PM–1:30 AM with some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider) required within three (3) months of hire.
• Experience taking care of patients or dealing with the public are required.

Responsibilities

• Moves patients to and from beds, stretchers, procedure tables, and wheelchairs within the hospital.
• Register transport requests and complete transports in the system.
• Follow safety procedures and use lift equipment.
• Transport bodies to the morgue and escort funeral directors as needed.
• Clean equipment and report broken items for repair.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
