Job summary

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support nursing staff in the emergency department. The role involves taking vitals, data entry, and assisting with treatments while maintaining patient dignity and safety.

The position is full-time days with weekend and holiday coverage as needed; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement with company match, paid holidays, and more. Prior CNA/EMTB and BCLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Nurse Aide certification or EMTB certification required.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current mandatory reporter certification.
• Must be able to read, write and follow written or oral instructions and communicate with others.
• Must display empathy and kindness toward patients and visitors.
• Must complete annual competency training and maintain license/certification.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vitals and other measurements accurately.
• Enter data into computer in a timely manner.
• Perform treatments and procedures per protocol.
• Assist with treatments and procedures as directed.
• Respect patient privacy and dignity during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards.
• Use proper lifting and transfer techniques and work with others as needed.
• Support patient education and rehabilitation.
