Job summary

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is seeking a high‑performing Emergency Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our ER team on a mid/swing shift. This role offers true emergency experience, advanced nursing skills, and collaboration with ICU and specialty teams in Knoxville.

Responsibilities include triage, stabilization, IV placement, monitoring, anesthesia support, and clear client communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Emergency, ICU, or high-volume General Practice experience.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong nursing skills in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with emergency triage and stabilization.
• Perform rapid patient assessments and treatments.
• Support CPR, oxygen therapy, and monitoring.
• IV catheter placement, blood draws, and radiographs.
• Anesthesia induction and monitoring.
• Administer medications via IV, IM, SQ, and oral routes.
• Wound care, splinting, and emergency surgical prep.
• Monitor ER patients and communicate changes to veterinarians.
• Maintain detailed medical records and help with transfers.
