• This position teaches in-person English classes and/or developmental English reading and writing or corequisite English composition courses on the Bryan campus.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day operations of the instructional program.

• Prepares course syllabus and assessments for each course per institution guidelines.

Job Summary

• Toperform the day-to-day operations of the instructional program
• Toteach courses as scheduled
• Facultyin this position teach ENGL 1301: Composition 1, and/or ENGL 1302:Composition and Introduction to Literature and/or developmental English reading and writing or corequisite English composition courses

Principal Accountabilities

• Providesinstruction for courses as needed
• Demonstratesa commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructionalexcellence
• Maintainsaccess to students through posted office hours and electroniccommunication
• Preparesand utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course usingguidelines established by the institution
• Maintainscurrent knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes avariety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, andeducational resources
• Advisesstudents in academic matters
• Evaluatesstudents’ performance through a variety of means to measure progress andkeep them informed in a timely manner
• Assistsin the development, distribution, and collection of assessments forcourses and program objectives
• Providesrecommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Head, andCurriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum
• Demonstratesa positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues,college administration, and the community
• Submitstimely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments
• Exhibitsa commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professionaldevelopment activities
• Engagesin collegial activities and service activities across the department, division,and college

Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Master'sdegree with at least 18 graduate hours in English

Minimum Competencies

• Experienceteaching college-level English composition and/or developmental Englishreading and writing or corequisite English composition courses
• Experienceteaching at a community college or two-year college
• Thisposition is to teach in-person English classes and/or developmental English reading and writing or corequisite English composition coursess on the Bryancampus
• Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with otherinstructors, staff, administration and students
• Abilityto instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienceusing D2L/Brightspace
• Experienceteaching ENGL 1301, 1302, and developmental English reading and writing or corequisite English composition courses
• Provideat least two professional references
