The Blinn College District is seeking a Student Worker - Information Desk Attendant at the Bryan Campus. The Information Desk Attendant serves as the primary contact and the face of the college for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, providing directions and campus resources with excellent customer service.

The role requires strong communication, a welcoming demeanor, and reliability. Enrolled Blinn students eligible for Federal Work Study funding are encouraged to apply.

  • Assist individuals in navigating the college website and campus resources.
  • Perform clerical duties for the Prospective Student Relations office.
  • Work approximately fifteen hours per week throughout the semester.

Student Worker - Information Desk Attendant

The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - Information Desk Attendant at our Bryan Campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary

TheInformation Desk Attendant serves as the primary point of contact and the"face" of the college for students, faculty, staff, and campusvisitors. Stationed at the central information hub, in the AdministrationBuilding, Bryan Campus. This role is responsible for providing accuratedirections, answering campus-related inquiries, and delivering exceptionalcustomer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate possessesexcellent communication skills, a welcoming demeanor, and a thorough knowledgeof campus resources, events, and building locations. Selection is based oncommunication skills, composure, responsibility, and availability to performclerical duties for the Prospective Student Relations office and assist with otherrequired tasks as assigned.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assistindividuals in navigating the college website, campus maps, and onlinedirectories.
  • Performclerical and other duties as they are assigned for the Prospective StudentRelations office
  • Serveapproximately fifteen hours per week throughout the semester.
Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications
  • Education: HighSchool Diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment as a current student and eligible forFederal Work Study funding.
Minimum Competencies
  • Must be federalwork study eligible
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Exceptionalverbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiencywith computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in afast-paced environment
  • Value diversity and sensitive to individuals who require special assistance
  • Available to work approximately 15 hours per semester
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience incustomer service, reception, or administrative support
  • Experience withreceiving and making phone calls
  • Familiaritywith college campus and administration layouts, and departmental structures.
  • Experienceworking in a diverse, multicultural higher education environment.
  • Bilingual ormultilingual capabilities a plus.
Preferred Competencies
  • InterpersonalSkills: Ability to remain calm, patient, and polite when dealing with stressedor confused individuals.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong resourceful skills to find answers to unique or unusual questionsquickly.
  • Reliability:Punctual and dependable, ensuring the desk is never left unattended duringoperating hours.
Special Notes To Applicants

Work Hours: Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pmScheduled around Blinn Classes, up to 15 hours a week.

They serve approximately fifteen hours per week throughout the semester.

Lifting up to 25 pounds.
