Job summary

Cowley College’s Career and Technical Education department seeks a full-time Electrical Technology Instructor for the Electrical Technology program. Under the Department Chair, you will manage classes, approve courses, schedule labs, recruit students and ensure safety and progress assessment.

You will maintain standards set by the college, TEA, and KBOR, and collaborate with faculty to support student success and program growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of teaching methodologies and practice.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Bachelor's degree and/or 4,000 contact hours of work experience as an electrician.
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical Technology systems and equipment including equipment maintenance, installation, quality control, and operation monitoring.
• Valid industry-recognized credentials in Electrical Technology (e.g. Apprentice Electrician, Master Electrician).

Responsibilities

• Assist in administration and organization of the Electrical Technology program.
• Coordinate courses, scheduling, and laboratory training; provide feedback to students.
• Maintain standards set by the college and accrediting bodies.
• Lead recruitment and placement efforts for program students.
• Contribute to development and modification of course procedures for Board of Regents approval.
