Job summary

Kansas City Kansas Community College seeks a full-time Electrical Technology Instructor to provide learner-centered instruction across Electrical Technology coursework at multiple locations. The role supports the college mission and prepares students for industry roles.

Responsibilities include curriculum updates, equipment maintenance, advisory-board collaboration, and active participation in assessment and student placement efforts. Strong collaboration with industry partners is expected.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related industry experience.
• Associate degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (preferred).
• Previous teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience in learner-centered pedagogy (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide formal instruction and leadership in the Electrical Technology program using learner-centered pedagogy.
• Ensure curriculum, resources, and materials are updated with industry standards and practices.
• Specify, select, operate, and maintain equipment and/or training modules.
• Maintain an industry-based advisory board and ensure meetings twice per year.
• Assist in student job placement and follow-up.
• Support program budgeting and e-purchasing for program items.
• Prepare lesson plans and update course syllabi.
• Demonstrate professional engagement through attendance and reporting.
• Help recruit and market the program to students.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and participate in program committees.
