Job summary

Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) is seeking five Full-Time Early Childhood Education Substitute Teachers to cover classrooms at five Seattle centers. This role offers a guaranteed weekly schedule with a home site and opportunities to work at other centers as needed.

Starting pay ranges from $24 to $33 per hour, based on licensure, education, and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working or volunteering with children.
• Willingness to work at all five centers.
• Ability to pass background check and meet health/safety requirements (CPR/First Aid, CPS, TB test, Food Worker Card).
• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for children.
• Support developmentally appropriate learning experiences in literacy, numeracy, scientific inquiry, creativity, social-emotional development, and physical development.
• Use age-appropriate, inclusive communication that reflects children's learning styles, abilities, languages, and cultures.
• Support children's home languages and cultural identities while helping them build confidence and skills in the classroom.
• Assist with classroom setup, activities, transitions, meals, snacks, and daily routines.
• Travel to and work at any of ReWA's five Early Learning Center locations based on program coverage needs.
