Job summary

Sutton Public Schools in Sutton, MA is seeking a 1.0 FTE District School Psychologist to support students' learning, development, and well‑being. This 1.0 FTE role reports to the Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal and requires collaboration with teachers and families to design effective interventions.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in School Psychology with MA certification eligibility, and brings strong assessment, counseling, and PBIS experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in School Psychology; CAGS or Ed.S
• Appropriate Massachusetts School Psychologist certification or eligibility
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Selects and administers age‑appropriate assessment methods and material to determine student needs.
• Conducts observations of students in their current academic environment; may involve off-site settings.
• Interprets assessment results and compiles comprehensive reports with recommendations.
• Serves as a team member of the student's special education team and makes intervention recommendations.
• Contributes to the development of the IEP when eligible for special education services.
• Consults with teachers to recommend effective strategies and methodologies based on goals.
• Consults with other specialists to program for students' needs.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, families, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Remains current in knowledge, best practices and laws governing supports for students with disabilities.
• Provides individual and small‑group counseling for social‑emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
• Implements interventions to support executive functioning, social skills, and emotional regulation.
• Assists in PBIS development and implementation within the school community.
• Maintains documentation required by federal, state, and district standards (MassHealth and IEP).
• Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education or Principal, and policies of Sutton Public Schools.
