Job summary

Community Access Services (CAS) in Clatskanie, Oregon is seeking a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP). You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independent lives and participate in daily activities. No prior DSP experience?

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver’s license is required for all day-shift and swing-shift positions.
• Ability to pass a national background check.
• Ability to meet company driver approval requirements.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and assist with mobility support as needed.
• Willingness to complete required training and follow established safety and support procedures.
• Previous experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Building Meaningful Relationships: Develop positive, respectful relationships with the people you support
• Supporting Daily Living: Assist with cooking, personal care, hygiene, household tasks, and other activities of daily living
• Promoting Independence: Encourage individuals to develop practical skills, make choices, and reach personal goals
• Connecting People With Their Communities: Support community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social engagement
• Providing Medication Support: Administer medications according to training, authorization, and established procedures
• Maintaining a Safe Environment: Help keep the home clean, comfortable, organized, and welcoming
• Documenting Care: Complete required documentation accurately and consistently
• Advocating for Individual Rights: Respect each person's dignity, preferences, choices, and right to live a meaningful life
