Job summary

Gesher Human Services in Detroit, MI is seeking a Direct Support Professional, CI to join our Community Inclusion team. This full-time role focuses on supporting individuals with disabilities in work, recreation, volunteering, and daily living activities to promote independence and social inclusion.

You will work in community and facility-based settings, helping participants engage safely and meaningfully while following individual service plans and ensuring dignity and well-being.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required; two years of college preferred.
• 21+ years of age; valid Michigan driver’s license; reliable transportation.
• Criminal background must meet funding source requirements; CPR/First Aid training.
• Fluency in American Sign Language is a plus; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise activities promoting healthy, active, socially integrated lifestyles for participants in various settings.
• Assist with employment, daily living, personal care, hygiene and mobility as needed.
• Oversee medication administration and documentation.
• Provide support and training based on service plan goals.
• Supervise and ensure participant safety.
• Transport participants using Agency van.
• Complete trainings, daily reports, and respond to emails.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Serve on Agency committees as appointed.
