Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for a school setting in Cullman, AL. You will provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, develop IEPs, assess student progress, and collaborate with teachers and related service providers to improve communication skills and academic outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with an endorsement in Hearing Impairment.
• Knowledge of hearing impairments, language development, and instructional strategies.
• Experience working with students with hearing loss in a school setting preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
• Support development of communication skills, including spoken language, sign language, and/or total communication approaches.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Work with related service providers (e.g., audiologists, speech-language pathologists).
• Provide training and support to staff regarding hearing loss and classroom accommodations.
• Monitor and maintain assistive listening devices and hearing technology.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and district policies.
