Job summary

Our House, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide supervision, instruction, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in structured day programs and in community settings.

You will help participants engage in meaningful activities, support daily living tasks, and promote safety, dignity, and independence under individualized service plans.

Qualifications

• Experience with DD/ID individuals in a Day Program or similar setting preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend paid training and maintain annual certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants according to individual service plans.
• Engage participants in activities (swimming, fitness, gardening, community-based recreation).
• Maintain required staff-to-participant ratios.
• Safely transport participants in agency vehicles.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of program sites; perform housekeeping as needed.
• Assist participants with hygiene and toileting needs.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple sites.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and quarterly all-agency meetings.
