The successful candidate will handle custodial tasks, support maintenance needs, and follow strict safety standards. JOB DESCRIPTION
SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Ability to understand and follow instructions; Basic Math and Writing skills, email and computer skills
Ability to give instructions and lead others
Physically demanding job including but not limited to walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, and using hands to operate objects, tools, and controls
REPORTS TO: Building Principal during daily operations and human relations; Maintenance Supervisor for repairs, maintenance, and cleaning; Approval of leave requests
Immediate supervisor is the building principal; when school is closed, the Custodial Supervisor is the supervisor.
POSITION GOAL: To provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff. Maintains housekeeping, building security, and preventive maintenance.
Maintain the building in a clean, attractive, healthy, and safe condition.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) Month or Nine (9) Month contract,
Eight (8) hours per day with 30-minute unpaid lunch
EVALUATION: One cooperative review by the Building Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.

3. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

3.02 Communicates needs for supplies to maintenance supervisor; orders supplies and manages inventory

3.04 Develops cleaning schedules, including summer work
3.05 Maintains a safe environment

3.07 Keeps up with new cleaning procedures
3.08 Uses time efficiently
3.09 Regularly communicates with the Principal
4. RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.01 Cleans and maintains assigned areas and assists as needed
4.02 Makes minor repairs and reports larger issues
4.03 Cleans floors thoroughly
4.04 Dusts equipment and woodwork
4.05 Keeps restrooms sanitary
4.06 Replenishes supplies timely
4.07 Empties waste receptacles
4.08 Cleans windows and walls
4.09 Moves furniture and equipment as needed
4.10 Maintains tools and equipment
4.11 Disposes of trash properly
4.12 Receives deliveries
4.13 Checks freezers and refrigerators during breaks
4.14 Performs emergency tasks as needed
4.15 Performs other duties assigned by supervisor
4.16 Keeps sidewalks clear of snow
4.17 Monitors energy policies
4.18 Cleans spills and accidents
4.19 Replaces light bulbs and fuses
4.20 Checks fire extinguishers monthly
4.21 Operates heating equipment
4.22 Monitors energy policies
4.23 Cleans range hood filters periodically
4.24 Unloads deliveries and sets up for events
4.25 Completes summer work timely
4.26 Disinfects areas periodically
4.27 Performs other duties as assigned
