Job summary

The YMCA of Dane County in Madison, WI is seeking a dedicated Custodian for a full-time evening shift from 1:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Friday.

You will clean and maintain building interiors and exterior grounds to provide a safe, welcoming environment for members and program participants, including floors, restrooms, and common areas, while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning knowledge and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays (as needed).

• Performs daily cleaning duties: dry/wet mops floors and cleans restrooms.
• Dusts, vacuums, empties trash, cleans around equipment.
• Cleans locker rooms, showers, and facilitates snow/ice removal.
• Maintains cleanliness to provide a safe environment for members.

This position cleans and maintains building and exterior grounds areas to provide a safe and clean environment for members and program participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs daily cleaning duties that include:
  • Dry mops and wet mops floors
  • Cleans restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas
  • Dusts, vacuums, remove trash and clean around equipment
  • Clears snow and ice from walkways, driveways and other areas as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning and safety procedures, including restroom sanitation procedures
• Knowledge of safe operation of standard and/or electrical floor or carpet care, custodial equipment, lawn care equipment and ladders
• Ability to work weekends and holidaysi>tion
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
