Physical Requirements:

Requirements for performing the custodian position require the following physical demands:

1. Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
2. Significant climbing and balancing
3. Significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling

Lifting Requirements:

1. 100 lbs (sometimes)
2. 50 lbs (frequent)
3. 25 lbs (continuous)

Daily Responsibilities:

1. Empty small trash cans into large trash bags and lift them into the outside dumpster.
2. Vacuum, sweep, and mop daily, including machine mopping the gym/cafeteria floor.
3. Shampoo carpets and strip, seal, and wax the gym/cafeteria floor at least once a year.
4. Clean and dust students' and teachers' desks, bookshelves, whiteboards, and all other surfaces.
5. Clean all window glass on entryway and classroom doors, including the use of a ladder.
6. Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, mirrors, and toilets daily.
7. Set up and take down chairs and tables after school meals and for all school functions.
8. Open, set up, and clean bleachers in the gym.
9. Shovel snow from school entryways and sidewalks, including throwing ice melt.
10. Perform minor repairs as needed, such as light bulb replacement.
