Job summary

Kodiak MWR in Kodiak, AK is seeking a Cook 08 for full-time service at the Child Development Center. You will prepare a broad range of foods for meals, follow recipes, and ensure timely service while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The position includes a $1,000 hiring bonus and a comprehensive benefits offering for eligible employees; there is a structured progression with incentive milestones after 3 and 6 months of service.

Qualifications

• Experience with a full range of food preparation principles, including developing and evaluating recipes.
• Experience operating, breaking down, and cleaning food service equipment in large quantity production.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, fruits, sauces, and gravies for menus.
• Prepares and portions food for all meals following standardized recipes and adjusts for servings and equipment.
• Plans and schedules cooking procedures so many products are ready at the same time.
• Cooks a variety of items using complex preparation methods and presents food attractively.
