Job summary

The Community Wellness Partners in Oswego, NY is seeking a full-time Cook responsible for meal service for residents and staff, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and State code.

You will prepare meals per recipes, maintain sanitary standards, and assist with kitchen operations, including opening/closing. This role requires physical stamina and teamwork in a busy food service environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Able to understand and follow recipes and standardized procedures.
• Experience in food preparation preferred or 1–2 years in a cook role with supervisory duties.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to work with others and also independently as needed.

Responsibilities

• Open or close the kitchen according to procedures.
• Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and cafeteria service using standardized recipes.
• Maintain sanitary food handling procedures and proper temperatures.
• Set up food and beverages for special functions and meals for the cafeteria.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment during and after shifts.
• Attend training and keep production records as required.
• Stock supplies and communicate shortages to the production manager.
