Job summary

Ransomville Manor in New York state is seeking an Assisted Living Van Driver to transport residents to appointments, activities, and errands in a safe, respectful manner.

You will assist residents in and out of the vehicle, perform pre-trip safety checks, and maintain accurate logs. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday with potential weekend shifts, and pays $17-$18 per hour plus shift differentials and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle operated and a safe driving record.
• Experience transporting older adults, people with disabilities, or healthcare residents preferred.
• Ability to assist passengers with mobility limitations and operate accessibility equipment.
• Strong communication, patience, dependability, and customer-service skills.
• Able to pass employment screenings and training; scheduling flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport/accompany residents according to routes and procedures.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle and with mobility equipment.
• Complete vehicle safety checks before each trip and report issues.
• Maintain trip logs, mileage records, and transportation documentation.
• Keep the van clean, organized and secured.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, medical offices, and community partners.
• Follow NY State requirements, facility policies, infection-control practices, and emergency procedures.
• Protect resident privacy and report incidents to the supervisor.
