Job summary

Apploi in New York State is seeking a dependable Assisted Living Van Driver to transport residents to appointments, activities, and other approved destinations. You will provide courteous, respectful service that supports residents’ comfort, dignity, and mobility.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, ability to assist passengers with mobility, and clear communication with residents and staff. Pay is $17–$18 per hour, full-time, Monday–Friday with potential weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle operated and a safe driving record.
• Experience transporting older adults, people with disabilities, or healthcare or assisted living residents is preferred.
• Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility limitations and operate or secure accessibility equipment.
• Strong communication, patience, dependability, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to pass required employment screenings and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently, follow schedules, and respond to changing transportation needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport/accompany residents according to scheduled routes and facility procedures.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, using mobility equipment and safety procedures as needed.
• Complete vehicle safety checks before each trip and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required transportation documentation.
• Keep the van clean, organized, and properly secured.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, staff members, medical offices, and community partners.
• Follow all applicable New York State requirements, facility policies, infection-control practices, and emergency procedures.
• Protect resident privacy and report incidents, delays, accidents, or changes in a resident’s condition to the appropriate supervisor.
