Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program and current national certification/registration as a medical assistant.
• Or a valid LPN License and Diploma from accredited LPN course with most recent CEU's.
• Must have excellent communication skills with an emphasis on quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with direct patient care and telephone care.
• Perform routine telephone triage and relay information to provider/MA/nurse.
• Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, BP, height, weight, BMI, pulse oximetry, and age-appropriate screenings.
• Review and update patient allergies, medication lists, and medical history.
• Provide education materials for patients with chronic illness or for prevention.
• Clean and stock nurse's station, labs, exam rooms and equipment daily.
• Attend staff meetings and committees and perform additional duties as assigned.
• On-site testing: UA, strep, hemoglobin, glucose, and other screenings per standing orders.
• Venipuncture and labeling, route specimens to labs as needed.
• Administer vaccines under standing orders and supervise injectable meds.
• Monitor stable patients and manage wound care as directed.
