Job summary

FamilyCare Health Centers (WV) seeks a Medical Assistant or LPN to support providers with direct patient care in a busy clinic. You will perform patient assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, medication administration under standing orders, and assist with procedures.

You will also handle telephone triage, data entry in the EHR, referrals, and patient education. The role requires excellent communication, teamwork, meticulous charting, and adherence to safety and infection control

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant or LPN required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a clinic setting with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency with orientation checklists for MA/LPN tasks and EHR documentation.
• Perform routine telephone and walk-in triage and forward information to providers.
• Perform patient assessments, including vital signs and age-appropriate screenings.
• Review and reconcile patient allergies, medication lists, and medical histories.
• Provide patient education and self-management support for chronic illness.
• Clean and stock nurse''s station, lab, patient bathrooms, equipment and exam rooms daily.
• Ensure exam rooms are disinfected between patients.
• Attend staff meetings and requested committees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Perform on-site testing as ordered and document results in the EHR.
• Perform venipuncture and label tubes; route specimens to the correct lab as needed.
• Administer vaccines and routine medications under standing orders.
• Obtain prior authorization for prescriptions and durable medical equipment.
