Job summary

PathWays is hiring a Childcare Teacher in Washington, PA to create a safe, engaging classroom for children 6 weeks to school age. You’ll support the teaching team, guide daily activities, and help kids learn and laugh.

This full-time role offers health benefits, holidays, and a 50% childcare discount for employees. Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of experience with children, and ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Clearances and health screenings are required before start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years (or 2,500 hours) working with children required.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred; we can help with enrollment and renewal every 3 years.
• Clearances: Pennsylvania State Police, DHS, FBI, PA Child Abuse, National Sex Offender Registry; state-specific clearances if lived outside PA.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, loving, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to school age.
• Support teaching team, guide daily activities and routines, help kids grow and learn.
• Plan play-based learning activities using Creative Curriculum.
• Communicate with parents to share milestones and progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Float between classrooms to maintain ratios and support staff.
